  • Resolved Jonas Lundman

I wonder if any deveopment testmode is still active.

When activating this plugin a lot of upload / media scripts from the wp-includes core is loaded on the frontend, when logged in. It slows down the site as …

I couldnt figure out until I deactivated this plugin. Then about 20 script links dissapear and CDATA stuff.

Then I tested on my clean Twentytwelve theme empty workspace and this plugin loads a lot of stuff there too.

    Anyone else experiance?

  • Hi Jonas, this was a response I wrote on another thread:

The plugin loads wp_enqueue_media which includes all of the scripts needed for the Media uploader. It only loads if the user is logged in. It seemed like I was getting enough requests for a front-end uploader that including the function was the best way to go, and a logged-in user would already have these scripts loaded because they are part of the WP admin.

However, to give users a choice, I’ll include an option in the next release to disable adding the scripts to the front-end for those who aren’t using them.

Ok, just to make shure for other users, we talking about 2 – 7 seconds extra pageload time, on a new install. Some scripts or links must be in broken paths, thats typical for this behaviour.

Great with the new update with the option to turn frontend on or off. I love this plugin and wanna use it as logged in…

I acknowledge that some users have complained about speed issues. (You can find them in older posts in this forum). I haven’t personally been able to replicate speed issues, but I can’t account for all of the variations of people’s sites (themes, other active plugins, server setup, etc.). I continuously look for ways to improve the plugin, so user feedback is helpful. Thanks!
