  • Hello,

    After update to the last version, my site is very, very, very long and I frequently have
    504 Gateway Time-out

    The server didn’t respond in time.

    I reload the previous version that was more light, quick… and non intrusive with my personnal datas !

    That sounds bad. The new Freemius integration isn’t supposed to have a significant impact on site performance.

    Did any new errors show up in the error log after you updated the plugin? In particular, I would recommend looking for errors like “maximum execution time of X seconds exceeded” or “memory limit exceeded”. Even if an error doesn’t mention this plugin by name, it could still be related to the timeout.

    Finally, the usage analytics are opt-in. You can skip the opt-in screen and the plugin will still work just like it normally would. You don’t need to provide any personal data.

    It’s too late for me : I have re-installed the previous version (v1.5.7)…

    and of course, I skipped the recording screen.
    I hate this way of overloading the code with features that have no interest for me and are unrelated to what is expected of a plugin…

    Unfortunately, you’re not the only one doing this, more and more plugins are doing the same thing.
    In the end, our sites spend their time emitting data to each developer 🙁

    If at some point you decide to switch to 1.6 or a later version and it still causes errors, please let me know. I would like to find a way to fix that problem.
