Support » Plugin: a3 Lazy Load » after last update safari not compatible

    Hi there,
Since the last update, this plugin seems to be no longer compatible with the safari browser. With this I mean that certain photo’s wont be loaded and there seems and error with a pop up blocker and privacy blocker which seem to be thinking photo’s are adss.

I had to deactivate this plugin, but would rather keep this plugin when it is fixed then starting a new plugin.
I look forward to your response!
    Charlotte

    Hi Charlotte

Have tested and there is no issue with the latest or recent Safari browser. Also I think if there was we would have many reports of that and yours is the only one.

I think that it is an issue with your browser cache. You would just need to clear it. If you have had the plugin deactivated for a week it has probably cleared itself.

Try reactivating it and see how it is. If you still see the issue then clear your safari cache.

If the issue still persists then please post an link to the site so that I can check it for you (a3 Lazy load would have to be activated of course).

    Hi,

I am also facing the same issue in safari browser in iOS devices.

    Thanks

    Hi Steve,

I just enabled it, empties my cache and had exactly the same error. This is the URL (scroll down to see the photo missing): https://www.charlotteplansatrip.com/en/asia/sri-lanka/

This all started after your last update. I had a developer look at it, since I didn’t know what caused it, and he found out it was your plugin causing the error.

Have a look at it yourselves and let me know what you think. Strangely enough, on multiple devices it can be a different photo which is missing. Furthermore, I found out that when I change the dimensions of the photo, for a couple of hours or days it is visible again, and then it goes error…

    Hi Charlotte

Thanks for the link. The issue is something to do with the images – I mean if you just run the images in a Safari mobile browser they also can’t load (no Lazy Load involved)

For example in a mobile click on this image

    https://www.charlotteplansatrip.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/Budget-Sri-Lanka.jpg

If you try in Chrome browser on mobile it is the same.

Run that url in a Laptop Chrome, Firefox or Edge browser and it shows fine.

The image is there but it is just a tiny thumbnail that is impossible to see.

Just a question? are you using Jetpack Plugin Image Enhancer (Photon) or something similar?

Are you seeing the same issue with a3 Lazy Load deactivated – you should be because the raw image url that pulls the image straight from the server has the same issues in mobile browsers.

    Hi Steve,
Thanks for the quick response. the strange thing is now that I have disabled lazy load, I indeed still don’t see the image. However, before enabling it this morning, I did see it (yes I emptied the cache).

I don’t use Jetpack but the photo plugins I am using are the following:

    – Auto Image Attributes From Filename With Bulk Updater
    – ShortPixel Image Optimizer

Furthermore I am using these plugins which might somehow have something to do with this (no idea how but I just feel something could be here):
    – Asset CleanUp: Page Speed Booster
    – Advanced Cron Manager
    – instant.page
    – Webcraftic Clearfy – WordPress optimization plugin

I have no idea why there would be any errors with the photos. By the way, the URL of the budget photo you send me is big and very visible, not like a tumbnail on multiple devices here…

    Hi Charlotte

Very strange – Look at this – I download the image and try to edit it with Photoshop – and it can’t open with this error message

Cannot complete your request because an unknown or invalid JPEG marker type is found.

    See screenshot

I Googled ‘unknown or invalid JPEG marker type’ and found this post which explains the issue and how you can resolve it.

Hope that helps you a bit

    Hi Steve,
Can you tell me which foto it is that you are trying to do this with? I have the feeling namely that with different devices, different photos are not being shown.

the article indeed gives a solution on how to fix it when you cannot open the photo with Photoshop. It suggests there is an error with the extension (an image actually being png but being saved as jpeg). This might be a solution, since these are photo’s we recently started working on in the photoshop app on our iphone, which could be the reason this is going wrong. However, there was the same problem a few days ago with a photo which was not edited in photoshop, but just in the normal way how we edit all of our photos. So it seems there might be something else triggering this. And then I am also wondering why it does work in chrome, but gives an error in safari.

I am very curious to your view on this! Might be good to know that I am not technical at all πŸ˜‰ so if you see any weird things here, please just point it out!

    Kind regards,
    Charlotte

Just a quick add on. This is the image I am not able to see on the website via safari, but does show very well on chrome:

    https://www.charlotteplansatrip.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/Best-Beaches-of-Sri-Lanka.jpg

It feels almost like there is a problem with safari and any plugin instead of the photo’s itself….
