• I having an issue with getting an multisite (domains) working in WordPress. I’m trying to use the multisite domain mapping tool but the instructions are contradictory the main instructions say install as any other module but the read me says install manually.

I’ve tired both methods but when I try to access the site I get the message “no site defined on this host” but I can define a host until after the installation (according to the documentation) which basically says go to the site in as admin and configure it.

there is confusion over the title of the plugin folder in one instance its called, wordpress-mu-domain-mapping and in the other it’s called mu-plugins.

so where I an now is I have a manual install with the sunrise.php in the root directory and the plugin folder called mu-plugins and the entry in the wp-config define(‘SUNRISE’,’on’); just above the /* That’s all, stop editing! Happy blogging. */
line (i’ve tried it in other places with the same result), which seems to work as I get and message saying there is not site configured.
AS soon as I add the define(‘SUNRISE’,’on’); to the config file I can no longer access the site which means I can configure the sites. So it’s a bit of a catch 22

Can anyone help me out here?

    Thanks

What do you mean by “I can define a host”? What documentation are you referring to?

You can use the installer to install DM in the plugins folder BUT you have to move sunrise.php to the wp-content folder. So it is a manual install whether you choose to install it in the mu-plugins folder or in the plugins folder.
