After installing 3.04 can't see images in admin area

    I did a new 3.04 installation for a new website, but I only see red Xs and blank little squares in the posting and pages area, no images.
    Can anyone help me get through this? It’s a test site for a workshop I’ll be giving on the 9th of January.

    Dekmar, it’s possible that the 3.0.4 update didn’t go perfectly smooth for you.

    If you have FTP access, use the download button (top right of this screen) and download the latest, unzip it and FTP the files up to your web host.

    It could just be that the files didn’t get overwritten properly, this will fix it.

    Check your uploads path in Settings->Media.

    Thanks for your recommendations, although I couldn’t fix the problem. Since it was a new installation, and I couldn’t get it to work for my workshop, I waited for WP 3.1, deleted the whole directory, installed the new version, and now everything’s fine. I’ll use the site for tutorials for the people who attended the workshop. I’m grateful for the options you gave me, and for taking the time to answer to my need.
