After enabling social options site has redirect loop (5 posts)

    I've used this plugin quite a bit on WordPress 3.7-3.8.x.

    On a 3.9 site right now, and after I enabled some social media related stuff in Yoast like Facebook Open Graph and Twitter stuff, and then disabled it, the site home page has a redirect loop. Updating permalinks doesn't help the problem.

    If I disable the plugin, problem gone. I deleted and reinstalled the plugin. Enabled...same issue.

    BTW - tried the version from Github, still crashes home page with a "redirect loop."

    Enabled the plugin and re-enabled the social facebook, twitter and google plus settings. Saved...no go. Home page still toasted.

    Right now I can't use Yoast in any way. This is a clean, WP 3.9 site built on the Roots starter theme.

    Tonight when people aren't on I'll try disabling all plugins and such - just can't do that now.

    Disabled all plugins, saved Permalinks and then enabled the Yoast plugin only.

    Home page still crashes with the redirect loop error message.

    Changed themes to the default WP theme. Enabled the Yoast plugin, home page tanks.

    This is somehow related to Yoast.

    Just found this problem - other people have experienced this with no resolution:

    I paid for the premium plugin to get support from Yoast. Their first response told me I needed cURL installed.

    It's my own server and I just sent them back a screen shot showing that curl 7.26.0-1+wheezy9 is installed.

    Waiting on their response to see if they can trouble shoot more.

    You can close this problem out as 100% unresolved.

    I'm getting a refund for Yoast's premium support as they've left me high and dry unfortunately. A junior dev responded to my problem with "update your files and change your hosting provider" and then they didn't respond to anything else.

    Very disappointed with this situation.
