    While trying to find out why https://www is removed from website urls,

    I already set WordPress Address (url) and Site Address (url)
    Wordpress Address (url) https://www.mysite.com/
    Site Address (url) https://www.mysite.com/home

    I edited the functions.php in a custom child-theme, added the below code:

    update_option( ‘siteurl’, ‘https://www.example.com’ );
    update_option( ‘home’, ‘https://www.example.com’ );

    Couldn’t access the WordPress dashboard or website after that.
    So I undid the above code and saved the file to it’s original state,
    Issues still remain, can’t access dashboard, website is a right mess.

    “Page Not Found” and 404 error.

    Went to phpmyadmin and changed Template and Stylesheet to twentytwenty,
    Twentytwenty looks messed up too, a long page of text, html, links.

    Enabled WP_DEBUG in wp_config.php found one error; plugin related, fixed.

    Went to inspect element, over 300 errors, plugins, jquery, theme related.

    Disabled all plugins in FileZilla, renamed them all.

    Checked inspect element > console, errors reduced to 135.

    Automatic backups is enabled in cpanel/softaculous for the WordPress install.
    – Once a week and Backup Rotation is set to 1.

    Tried replacing functions.php with fresh copy from my custom theme.

    Any suggestions what should I try next?

    Thanks
