Once the update happened I suddenly could not login into my wordpress site.

– I do not receive email links to reset the password. No go…
– I have tried to manually reset it through the database. Failed
– Also tried through softaculous cpanel installation. Failed
– Also using emergency php reset. No go…

All do not work… What happened in the latest version? I have found others complaining about it but not getting solutions.

Any ideas? My site is not the only one, I have a client who also is having the same problem after her site upgraded. The hosting company just points me to the wordpress default answers rather than having solutions.

Have you tried disabling all custom themes and disabling all plugins? Some themes and plugins may cause issues, particularly if they use deprecated code. Also, have you tried to manually re-install WordPress 4.2.2? To do this, download the latest version of WordPress, unzip it, and then FTP the contents up to the server and overwriting the existing WordPress installation, but making sure **not** to overwrite the uploads directory and the wp-config.php file.
