Bear with me. I tried to be as detailed as possible
My pages, comments, and posts all exist when viewing from the Admin Dashboard but not when visiting site outside of the dashboard.
My site has been running fine since January. My db is backed up every night using the Automatic Backup plugin. On Saturday I upgraded to 2.6.2 from 2.6.1 using the automatic upgrade plugin. I also installed “Theme Test Drive” , “Featurific”, and “MyBloglog.” I can’t remember if I upgraded first then installed those three plugins or vice-versa but I did all of it on the same day.
I didn’t notice a problem until Monday morning when I tried to write a new post. The “Save” and “Publish” buttons kept greying out as if it was autosaving. However, when I typed and tried to publish the post, I wasn’t given the usual Date&Time. I was instead directed to the list of all published posts. Everything was there except for the one I just did. I tried this several times with the same results. I then noticed that comments weren’t working either. The last comment on a popular post was early Sunday morning. I tried to make a comment and it didn’t work.
Here is what I have done so far and nothing has worked:
- Deactivated recently installed plugins
Deactivated all plugins
Changed to a different theme
Changed to the default theme
Went to PHPMyAdmin and dropped all tables and then uploaded a backup file
Deleted all wordpress files, except wp-content, using ftp and then reloaded a fresh download from wordpress.org
My site shows up fine at first glance, but when you click on any of the pages, all I get is a 404 error. My pages, comments, and posts all exist when viewing from the Admin Dashboard. I also can actually write new posts now. So I fixed that part somehow. Any ideas?
