# affiliate plugin?

 * I have been looking for an affilate / referral style plugin for WordPress and
   have come up empty. This is how I would like it to function:
 * User signs up and gets affiliate link to use on web site or send to friends.
 * People follow the affilate link to the website and sign up for the newsletter.
 * The system keeps track of how many people the affilate referred.
 * There is no money involved so it does not need to be as complicated as all the
   affilate apps I have seen. Essentially it would function just like spreadfirefox
   affiliate program as it will be used in much the same way i.e. it will essentially
   be a contest and there for I need to be able to show live stats on who is ahead.

 * And btw, Draconic, affiliate programs are not just for money, they’re also for
   bringing traffic to newer sites.

 * Draconic – I plan on rewarding people by other means such as prizes.
 * I am pretty sure such a plugin does not exist. There are tons of affiliate apps/
   scripts out there, but most of them are full of features that I do not require.
   The spreadfirefox system is exactly the kind of thing I am looking for. In case
   you do not know what I am talking about, check out the affiliate stats in the

 * Since spreadfirefox uses Drupal they may be using this module.

 * Ohhh, I see bringing in the traffic. I’ve actually thought about that myself,
   but never thought of “non-paying” affiliate programs.
 * Haha maybe we should pool up money for a developer to work on it.
