For a while now, I have been using this plugin exclusively for internal linking and it has worked great.

More recently, I started adding affiliate links. I wanted to add an image icon next to those links as part of my disclosure practices but I am having a little difficulty.

The first attempt was to add HTML to Affiliate links disclosure under General Settings. This was the image linked to my disclosure page. That would have been ideal but it seems that is text only.

The second attempt was using CSS. Even though I could not link it to my disclosure page, it looked good. Unfortunately, the added Link class is added to all links, even the internal ones. So, that is not going to work either.

Is there a solution for this?

Hello. Thank you for using Auto Affiliate Links. Right now you cant achieve this, but I will make a small update to the plugin so I can add this feature.

Hello. Please update to the latest version ( 6.0.6 ). In the Internal Linking section of General Settings, you will have an option to set a different CSS class for internal links. Once set, the css class you specify above will work only on external links, while the one specified for internal links works only on internal links.

Just downloaded the update and the link class (which now should be just for external links) is still added to all links, even the internal ones.

UPDATE: I was wrong… didn’t initially understand you had it set up as a default. It seems to work. Thanks again.

You need to set a different link class for internal links, else it will inherit the class from general settings. I had to do it this way to prevent breaking stuff for those who use the plugin only for internal linking.
