Hi,

When I set this up, what happens to how Webmaster Tools & Clicky Analytics are now set up to detect http?
Does it just automatically do everything the same, but for https?
Will they still be able to produce the stats?
Will Webmaster Tools show redirects when I “Fetch as Google”?

Hi Joe,

after migrating to SSL there are a couple of minor changes you need to make to your Google Analytics/Webmaster tools, as described in the following article: https://really-simple-ssl.com/knowledge-base/how-to-setup-google-analytics-and-google-search-consolewebmaster-tools/. Migrating to SSL won’t have an effect on the usability of Analytics/Webmaster tools, everything keeps working like it does now and it still tracks every visit.

As for Clicky analytics, I’m not familiar with it but their websites states that SSL is supported with a paid account.

Depending on the initial visited domain there will be a redirect. The plugin redirects http:// requests to https:// via a 301 redirect. This is normal behaviour.

That seems to have worked easily! I get the green padlock at https://www.funkish.audio/music-blog/ and there are no hiccups so far.

How will the change effect SEO? On the new Search Console https://www.funkish.audio/ has 0 pages indexed, whereas before it was getting indexed a lot.

If you have followed the instructions on the page Mark has shared, your primary property should start indexing hits pretty soon.
