    Hello,
We just had an AdWords conversion being counted at double the $price and double the product count in our Analytics reporting. Organic conversions are tracking correctly. We use PayPal Pro to process Visa and MasterCard on ezsnapdirect.com site. For other payment methods, such as Amex, Discover, or actual PayPal payments, then PayPal Express is used. All seamless in WooCommerce and the customer ends up back in the ezsnap shopping cart, regardless of payment method. The conversion that was double counted was an AdWords click to WooCommerce and payment was made via PayPal Express. Any support on solving this issue would be appreciated.

    Hi @aboutwebsites

This plugin is not reporting any data to Google Analytics, only to AdWords. If the conversion is being reported correctly in AdWords (single and no double count) then it is very unlikely that the issue is coming from this plugin or AdWords.

Fixing Google Analytics issues is not within the scope of the support for this free plugin.

OK, thanks for your follow up.

With further analysis, I’ve discovered that our AdWords conversion data is coming from our Google Analytics account.

In your opinion, is it best to continue collecting conversion data via Analytics, or is there some advantage to set up your plugin for AdWords conversion tracking?

    Thank you.

Does this mean you are importing the conversion data from Google Analytics into AdWords?

I prefer AdWords tracking over Analytics tracking over several reasons:

    • It (AdWords tracking) is technically easier to implement and therefore less prone to implementation errors.
    • Our plugin makes sure that admins, shop editors, failed payment orders are not being tracked.
    • Our plugin excludes double counting because we track the order ID.
    • AdWords tracking allows for more settings, like conversion window, counting only one purchase or all purchases coming from the same person (it is recommended to count all).

If you use this plugin to track conversions you will have to make sure not to also import purchase conversions from Google Analytics. Conversions would be counted twice.

    Regards
    Aleks
