Advice please – Want to create a fan site for hockey

Been a long time since I’ve visited here at my old stomping grounds!
To the point; I want to build a fan site for my local hockey team, and I want to use WP and related stuff to do that. Does anyone have any examples of existing sites like this that are WP-powered? I want to have news, video, social media linkages and a forum. Who knows what else.

I thank you all in advance for any ideas, advice, or links that would be of assistance. WP has the best community in all of the blogosphere.
