My WP blog was hacked and a malicious script destroyed the site. When I tried to log into the wp-login I got a 404 page.
I had a backup of the whole site which I uploaded to a folder as I had not access to the dashboard or anything else. I had no idea how to restore the backup as I have never had to do it before.
My host said they were restoring my site but then reported that the index.php was missing. I can’t see why that happened because surely it would have been included in the backup.
When try to login at http://theduckshoot.com/blog/wp-login.php I get these error messages:
Warning: require(/home2/thumbsup/public_html/theduckshoot.com/blog/wp-load.php) [function.require]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home2/thumbsup/public_html/theduckshoot.com/blog/wp-login.php on line 12

I have have now got Xampp and WordPress installed on my computer. Is it possible to restore my backup locally and rebuild my site locally?
