I have a client that wants me to create something almost identical to https://dogvacay.com/ but in a different niche. They really like WP and prefer to be on the platform if possible. I have gotten some really good advice on LinkedIn on using BuddyPress and such to make this happen.

It looks like BuddyPress is fairly close. Are there any alternatives that I should look at that aren’t showing up in my searches? I could probably make BuddyPress work but wanted to see if there was another option that might get me farther down the road quicker. I don’t use WP too often for things other than blogs so any other plugin recommendations might help too.

    Hi,

I’ve just come across your post by searching for ‘wordpress matchmaking’. However, and quite coincidentally, I’ve got a client with the exact same request, who wants something almost identical as dogvacay.com, but based in the UK!

How did you get on with the project? I’ve been experimenting with a classifieds plugin using WordPress but this way I’m struggling to find how to integrate features such as extra fields in user profiles, set location for the profile (rather than listings owned by the profile) and email notifications of ‘new local matches/users’.

    Any advice would be appreciated.

    Thanks in advance,
    Adam
