I am trying to understand how to set up advertwhirl plug in. The directions are somewhat confusing as they show a part in the extended instructions that ask the user to poke around in the template area and another section omits this and says to go right into it? Has anyone ever set this up with success and If so could you help me out. I have been trying to reach the company that created it but I have gotten nowhere.

  • I set it up and it is working. I made it post ads in my blog posts but not in my pages. Just have one ad so far but will add more to the rotation today. Works pretty well.

yeah, I saw his directions and they are overwhelming specially the part where he says to alter the code. f that. That’s why we’re using WP, so we don’t have to alter any code. I don’t think you need to go into code if you have the latest wordpress and a stable template like the 2010 theme.

btw, here’s my site so you can see it working:

    http://www.10in30.com/?p=1893

It’s the 300×250 in the text. sometimes it doesn’t work with the layout which I am trying to figure out how to skip some posts. I would then add another campaign for the ad to appear after a different paragraph number.

Thanks for replying. I am thinking about starting a website for programmers who failed English 101. I am currently studying 2 other plug-ins that claim to do the same thing.

Hah, I don’t think it’s so much of an English or grammar problem as much as it’s a “how to explain shit” problem. He’s talking to other programmers without realizing it. Most of us are selling stuff, or making ad campaigns or otherwise trying to “get rich” and not interested in the least in html or programming and we’d rather not program if not necessary.

Anyway, I can’t get it to post in my Pages in-text. It posts in the header and footer and anywhere on a Post, but not in-text, Pages. : ?
