• Is there a blow-by-blow set of instructions anywhere that will tell me how I can go from the dashboard to adding advertising?

I’ve had a look at “User:Tomhanna/Adding Ads to WordPress”, but he starts with “adding advertising code is no different in principle from adding other code”. Fine. I’ve no idea how to add any code.

“You can place ads directly in your Template Files”
No idea how to do that.

“or there are Plugins available to help with placing and managing advertising code.”

    Where?

    All help appreciated.

  • Please, I mean this in the nicest possible way…

Please consider blogging for more than 5 minutes before adding advertising to your site. Any ads on your pages will require a reasonable amount of content in order to pull effective ads onto your pages anyway.

these things should become clear very quickly when you start filling your blog with content.

u can active insert ads into ur sidebar, using the widgets
    >design>widgets –> add text. paste ur ad code in it.

for top and btm ads, copy n paste code into header & footer respectively

Ivovic, I had a full ten minutes blogging planned before I went into advertising!

Seriously, though, I want to find out how to do it before I get to the stage where it is urgent.

    devilcatz: Thanks. I’ll try that.
