    Works great.

Unfortunately, the dev has decided to throw an affiliate banner for WP Engine at the top of the page. Why?

I’m so sick of affiliate CRAP in “free” plugins. At least give us an option to remove it.

    Hello,

If you want to get rid of it, have a look at the FAQ: http://apps.meow.fr/media-file-renamer/faq/, it’s the last “question”. It’s not really an option, you need to set a variable, but I have always given a way to remove it this way. Using this variable, other plugins also remove the ads so this is actually quite convenient.

Does this fix it for you? I really don’t want to have my users annoyed or sick when they are using my plugin, this is far from my aim.

I have tagged this review with modlook because:
    – bad rating because there is an “ad” (actually partner) in the plugin dashboard
    – there is an option to remove it (user didn’t find it)
    – reply was given but user didn’t reply to it

    “Ad ” – “partner” – meh….simply semantics.

You can add this line to your wp-config.php (main config file) or in your functions.php (theme).
    `define( “WP_HIDE_DONATION_BUTTONS”, true );

NOT an “option”. Options are built into the plugin. Yours doesn’t have that. It requires editing a file. I had no issues finding it – I chose not to edit a file when you could easily fix it with an option to remove in the settings.

Didn’t realize it was REQUIRED that I “reply”.

I stand by my original review. If you spent more time fixing the issues that users care about and less time worrying about the 1s you get (bad feedback is actually an opportunity – you failed on this opportunity IMHO) and more time thinking about your users opinions about what you do you would be far better off. I can’t change me review to a 0 so a 1 will have to do.

I’ve un-modlook‘ed this topic. The ad is part of the experience and the user left a review. That’s all there is to it and that’s not a problem.

Yes, because I wanted to help you and I have asked a question.

Does this fix it for you? I really don’t want to have my users annoyed or sick when they are using my plugin, this is far from my aim.

You never replied, until I have added a modlook. I could have added an option if that variable wouldn’t fit you. But you didn’t say anything. I try to do my best for my users. But if they come here simply to hurt me, and don’t reply to my honest question, what can I do?

I can’t change me review to a 0 so a 1 will have to do.

At the end, my plugin helped you (because it works, right?) and you came here with a bad review to hurt it. I think it’s a bit harsh but that’s your opinion.

The truth is I would have added an option if you would have asked me to. I really don’t mind.

    Looks like Jan has spoken.

Rather than trying to get the bad feedback removed, you could have spent your time adding this feature to your plugin. THAT would have shown that you “try to do my best for my users”.

Officially, users can complain about anything. Moderators wouldn’t remove anything except if there are bad words or if it goes too far. You can write “I don’t like your plugin.” and it is valid. I don’t really agree with this but that’s the way it works here.

Rather than trying to get the bad feedback removed, you could have spent your time adding this feature to your plugin.

What you have asked has been added to my to-do list. It is not simple change, it cannot be quick-fixed, because it is used on all my plugin and I need to find a way to make this option works on all of them at once. So I’ll do it in a few day.

Yes, I do my best for my users, and it’s what I am doing until now: working on potential issues. Yours will be also “fixed”.

Let’s all have a positive attitude, I didn’t say anything against your request. But to be honest, a little e-mail or a thread in the Support Threads would have been a little nicer. I can’t work faster and better for users because they hurt or threatened me.

    The option has been added.

Worthless review that shoud’ve been a regular forum post. Also think about your tone when complainging about the work others do for you in their free time for free.

@hmkay – Free is irrelevant. Your attitude is exactly what is wrong with WP devs. Get over yourself.
