    Hello Support,
I just migrated my sermons from “Sermons Manager – WP For Church” to Advanced Sermons. I am still using the free version for now. However, I used to automatically send out a newsletter to subscribers using MailPoet whenever I created a new sermon on the website. After migrating my data I am not able to locate the sermons in the posts to modify my newsletters. Also, they do not appear on my blog page so I am not sure if they are actually classified as “Posts”.
Can you provide some guidance on this?
    Thanks.

    Hi there @jahrat 👋🏽!

Thank you for reaching out to MailPoet Support!

After migrating my data I am not able to locate the sermons in the posts to modify my newsletters.

So if I am getting this right you are using MailPoet to send emails to your subscribers when you publish a new Sermon.

Can you verify that you are using the Post Notification type of Email for that with the Automatic Latest Content Widget? (more info below)

If that’s the case please share a screenshot of the email that you are creating and where you are trying to find the sermons. Even if they are not classified as posts they could be added to your newsletter if they are classified as a custom post type.

Please keep us posted, we’ll be glad to keep troubleshooting this issue with you.

    Cheers!

    Hello @danielinhou,
I am using both “Newsletters” and “Post Notification” emails. I have several screenshots I can send you via email. For content, I select “Automatic Latest Content” and then use the cog to get to the filter criteria. Once there I set “Show max” as 3, and the dropdown list has six options from which I choose “Post”. At this stage, my sermon should be visible but it is not. So I tried all the others with still no success. Neither can I find a filter under “Categories and tags” that shows any sermons. I tried leaving it blank or choosing one of the options that could refer to the sermons.
    Still nothing appears.

    Hi again!

Thanks for confirming. So I see that you are using the ‘Automatic Latest Content’ widget. In the drop-down menu, you can select to display Posts, Pages, Media, Products, or other ‘Custom Post Types’ registered on your site. Note that we only support custom post types that are searchable on the front-end.

Since you cannot find your sermons under Posts it means that they are probably being saved in another way, probably on another Custom Post Type. You will want to reach out to the Advanced Sermons team and ask share the information that I have highlighted above with them.

They will be able to let you know if their plugin is compatible with MailPoet, and if so what is the Post Type that you need to select in order to find your sermons.

Please note that if in the dropdown that you have mentioned you see a Post Type called “Sermon” or something similar you will want to try it right away, and see if the sermons appear, just in case.

    I hope this helps!

    Cheers

    Hello @danielinhou,
Advanced Sermons confirms their sermon plugin is not searchable on the front-end in the free version. They also indicate “Yes, they use the custom post type Sermon”, but have not tested for compatibility with MailPoet so they cannot confirm if it is.
I did some additional testing and I note that the podcasting plugin PowerPress finds the Post Type “Sermon” and my sermons do appear there. Is this a feature or setting that you could modify?
    Thanks.
