Hi there,
Yeah, I haven’t see that button in the new versions anywhere.
It looks like another one I’m going to have to re-code manually.
What were the specific features you used most with that button? I didn’t use it much.. and am not extremely familiar with it.
I’ll get started making a new one… but it will be put into the pro version. However, it’ll take me a week or so to get it fully functional.
So, go ahead and let me know what features you would like 🙂
Thank you for your kind words during this difficult time of transition 🙂
Again thanks for your fast reply! I can imganine you are having a hard time but as you have made the best WP Text Editor in the past I’m sure that WP Edit will be the next big thing soon!
I mostly used the “rel=” function. The dropdown menu in UTM was extremely useful especially when you have a lot of links you want to set to “nofollow”.

Lol – nice 😉 Thank you!
Gotcha. Okay, I’ll see what I can do.
This is also my most used button, the features i use on it are:
Target (to open in new window or not)
Title (to add the title)
Under the Advance Tab i use:
Relationship Page to Target (to add no follow to a link)
I believe there are so many features in this button I have yet to use but it is by far the most usefull to me.
Thanks for your assist and this plugin,
Brian

Okay.. thanks for that.
Unfortunately.. I’m going to have to code this from scratch. There is absolutely no way the old button is going to work in the new framework
This will take me a little time.. but I will see what I can do.
Thanks for the additional information.

I decided to make a light version of the Advanced Link button. It is available in version 1.7 of WP Edit.
You may read more about it here:

Hey Josh,
thanks for your work and thanks for putting it in light version!
Just updated to 1.7. Sorry for the delay in testing – as I started the thread about the feature I feel I should have been faster…
As you mentioned in your great article about the feature I had to reset buttons in order to see the button in the options menu. Adding to editor row works.
But there is a bug with the title attribute (a standard feature of the WordPress editor). First of all you can’t set in with the new button and moreover it deletes the title attribute if it was already set before when changing from “follow” to “nofollow”.
It would really be great to have it work with the title attribute as well.

Gotcha.
This can be added.
Please post again in 72 hours if I have not responded.
Thank you.
Hey Josh,
just came upon another thing. At the moment the advanced link button deletes images within the content if you select an image and then click on the Advanced Link button and make any changes in the window.
A little off topic but I thought you might want to know:
I installed WP Edit on a WP Multisite installation just 30 minutes ago und it’s working fine so far. No big problems.
Thanks for your effort!

Ahhh… I didn’t think about it in the context of images.
Yeah, it can’t be used like that yet. I’ll have to work on it some more.
Thanks for catching that!
