• Hello,

I have the pro version of S2Member installed, and have created a specific post/page access restriction for a page offering the download for a pdf book.

The page doesn’t require users to be logged in to receive access and download the files.

On the page, I have setup the download link for the actual file using the download key with instructions from the Advanced Download Restrictions sections.

The access to the page is working fine, and customers are able to access it after checking out on Clickbank. However the download links do not work.

The S2member configuration on the website for Basic download restrictions is empty – as I am not using any membership levels as of yet. So I am only using the specific post/page access with CB buttons and the download key for the actual file link on the page.

For the download link I am using the shortcode option with the following results:

    http://[site-domain]/?s2member_file_download=mysubfolder/mydownloadfile.pdf&s2member_file_download_key=%5Bs2Key file_download=”mysubfolder/mydownloadfile.pdf” /]

Using the above method, I get something that looks like this:

    http://www.domain.com/?s2member_file_download=mysubfolder/mydownloadfile.pdf&s2member_file_download_key=3f97a9f311302aa07f55ecd4723ce5db

When I click the link I get a 503 error – Invalid Key – your link has expired. — I get this regardless of the time or day I’ve been testing it. I also tried it through a different IP and I still get the same error.

    * However, when I actually remove the file from the subdirectory under the protected-files folder, the same link with the same key above, give a file not found error – once I put the file back in, I get the 503 error.

Then I tried the second shortcode option which auto generates the key for the download file, like this:

Using this method of the auto key generation, I get a link that looks like this, with a much longer key generated versus the first method:

    http://www.domain.com/customer/order/mysubfolder/?s2member_sp_access=fnIyOjVBRk00VlNlOUVTMlVlWlRWZDBpblJOM0Z3b3RlQnZ1OjkyOTJiYzExN2I0MzFlZDBhOTljYTE2NDEwZjk5NWM3fIZBClh9UiMmlPI2J9foHrOc3dI13ilrZQXCmRDYHwIhEfBt97x6FwJr5I2TTJk9IVEC4yJGq7GkONRre3TOGVs

When I click on this link, I get no error messages, but the link opens up another window tab in my browser and it redirects to the same page where I clicked the link – essentially getting the same download page again… however not download is being prompted.

‘order’ in the above link is a parent page which I use for specificity on my site for my customers to know where they are on the site – this page is not protected by s2member, only the child page which is the specific post/page protected in plugin.

I’ve read the posts here on everything related to download links, but noticed some users having the same issue with zero reply posts. I hope the above is more concrete account for the issue that several users seem to be facing.

I am now forced to move the download files to a public folder, but would like to get the files protected using the plugin modules, so any help will be appreciated.
