  • Of my “events”, “upcoming-events” and “eventcalendar” categories only one is visible in the ACE dashboard. Two are not.

These three event categories are ids 2, 7 and 16. None of them are hidden, but two completely other categories contain all hidden messages (Disclose Secret plugin).

    Download the current developement version.
    That solves your problem ๐Ÿ™‚

Thanks! I will try it tonight.

Does it also work with translated versions of EventCalendar?

    – or does it still need the (โ€ec3_event_categoryโ€) to ($ec3->event_category) fix?

It has been developed with the latest (3.1.1_rc1) version of ec3

    Very strange.

I have EventCalendar 3.1.1_rc2 and WordPress 2.2.3 and Gengo 0.9.1-alpha4 and the ACE development version.

The event calendar category is not visible in the exclusion list, unless I do the above mentioned change. Maybe the Gengo category name translation does it’s trick there? Anyway, this is not a big deal. I have both the problem and the solution.

However… ACE doesn’t seem to have any effect at all.
I can try to exclude any or all categories but they still display in the categories list. In the categories list that a) Gengo translates and b) Gengo filters

Should we thus declare ACE and Gengo mutually incompatible? Is is there some way of ordering the effects?

Oh well, maybe I just need to hack widgets.php to exclude some category id at low level. That would mean repeating work ๐Ÿ™

    I’m seeing two problems:

    1. I have 6 categories; only 5 display for exclusion.
    2. No matter what I set for exclusion, all categories are available to everyone. In other words, the plugin seems to be completely non-functional. ๐Ÿ™

I’ve tried this with both 1.0.6 and the current development version; same result.

I am using 2 other plugins:

    iimage browser
    themed login and register

    WordPress v. 2.3

    Any solutions yet?

No apparent solution (or response to this WP 2.3 problem). This continues to be a problem, plus others, in WP 2.6. See new post for three problems found in WP 2.6.
