Support » Plugin: Simple Cache » advanced-cache.php was edited or deleted

  • Talking about getting frustrated. Tried to turn Simple Cache on, and received a non-useful error message:

wp-content/advanced-cache.php was edited or deleted. Simple Cache is not able to utilize page caching.

I am expecting SC to create this file for itself, permissions are fine. Clicking the Fix button, just redisplays the same error message. Hmmm.

  • Go into your FTP and make sure it’s deleted. Then you can click “FIX” again.

Hi, I am having an identical problem. I deleted the file on the server and made sure it was deleted. Then I clicked FIX again. It’s an endless loop.

Fifteen minutes later, the problem seems to have disappeared. I’ll circle back with an update if it continues.

In the meantime I used a different caching plugin. Decided to give Simple-Cache another go. Permissions are ok, the server can write in the wp-content/ directory. Switch on caching:

"wp-content/advanced-cache.php was edited or deleted. Simple Cache is not able to utilize page caching." -> FIX

    rm wp-content/advanced-cache.php and click FIX.

"wp-content/advanced-cache.php was edited or deleted. Simple Cache is not able to utilize page caching." -> FIX

    rm wp-content/advanced-cache.php and click FIX.

Simple Cache annoys me at times as well and fixing is not so easy. You have to clear and reset many things.
