Hello, no ads are showing on my site. I’ve checked the Site Health tool and confirmed that the Adsense code snippet has been placed. Someone on another forum said they do not see the ad code on my site.

Additionally: on my Adsense account it says ads.txt is found and site is “authorized” and “ready”. Adsense auto ads is turned on. In the browser I’ve turned off ad-blocking extensions.

When checking the Chrome Inspect tool: the Network tab has an ads?client request with a status of 200.

Any help troubleshooting is appreciated. Thank you.

Hi @egreenhouse, thanks for reaching out to us. I’d be happy to help you with your AdSense issue. I can see that the Site Kit placed AdSense code is there on the site but it’s possible that something is altering this such as a conflicting third part plugin. Please could you share your Site Health information. You can use this form to share privately if preferred.

With the above information I can check your setup to see if anything stands out and ensure your AdSense module is connected as expected.

Site Kit doesn’t include any ads.txt functionality at present, but you can use a plugin such as ads.txt manager to ensure a valid ads.txt file is placed.

Once you have shared the above information I will review and get back to you with any useful information or instructions for you to take.

@egreenhouse Thanks for sharing your site health information that’s helpful indeed! As it looks like the AdSense code placed by Site Kit is being altered, I suspect this is why ads are not being displayed on site. This is likely due to a plugin or theme conflict.

Could you first try temporarily switching your site theme to a default WordPress theme? After doing so you can let me know here and I will be happy to check your source code once more. If there is no improvement then you may also need to temporarily disable some plugins you have active to see if there is a conflict coming from one of these.

Let me know if you have any other questions in the meantime.

I have changed the theme to a WordPress theme. Thank you!

@egreenhouse Thanks for confirming. I don’t see a change after updating the theme so if possible could you try temporarily disabling some plugins you have active on your site and I can check your source code once more?

The Security and Speed optimizer plugins would be a good place to start as we have seen these types of plugins block or alter Site Kit placed code in the past.

I deactivated the Security Optimizer and the Speed Optimizer.

I did notice that before I turned those off, I could see an add on my website when viewing in Edge.

@egreenhouse Thanks for your cooperation with the troubleshooting. I can confirm that after deactivating these plugins, I can now see ads on your site and Site Kit is placing the AdSense code as expected.

I suspect this is due to JS minification from the Speed Optimizer plugin. You can check this by going to Speed Optimizer > Frontend > JavaScript > Minify JavaScript Files. If this is switched on you can try switching it off. You can also try using the Exclude from JavaScript Minification option below to exclude the following:

    /wp-content/plugins/google-site-kit/

I can’t guarantee this exclusion will work and if it doesn’t you can reach out to the Speed Optimizer team for further help with exclusions. I hope this helps and please let me know if there is anything on the Site Kit side I can help further with.

This has been so helpful – thank you.

I previously messaged that I was having trouble restoring my original theme, but I figured it out. Thanks again!

@egreenhouse You are very welcome and glad to hear you managed to solve your theme issue also. If you can spare a moment of your time, we’d love to get your thoughts on Site Kit via a review. Thanks again!
