Adsense Deceptive Navigation, Need to search & find all specific Maxbuttons

    Hello, this is a heads up (maybe put this in a tutorial so others don’t make this mistake?), and a question.

    About 6 months ago Adsense restricted my account for “deceptive navigation”. Since that’s clear as mud, I reached out to Adsense help and they contacted the Policy Violation team on my behalf. I’ve gone back and forth with them several times, with various things needing to be fixed but one thing seems consistent: using Maxbuttons with pre-set text isn’t something Adsense seems to like.

    I did change the pre-set text from “TAP HERE” to “EXTERNAL SITE” but it’s just not the same as linking pertinent text with a text link. I’d like to change them all.

    I have nearly 2000 posts on my WordPress site and have tried to go through them one by one but it’s exhausting!

    So, I’d like to find all the instances of [maxbutton id=”7″ url= … so that I can manually change each one to be more compliant. Is there a way to see which posts have this particular Maxbutton?

    PS: Restricting my account means they’re serving less ads, and less quality ads. That equates to my ad income being cut SUBSTANTIALLY. We’re talking a 90% drop in income. It’s been devastating!

    I should note: I need to FIND them so I can change them manually. I use Search & Replace plugin for many things but it is not a solution in this case.

    Update, I used phpMyAdmin to search my database and find the string. Then I used the post ID number to find the post (just swapped it out in the URL) and then made the edits. Didn’t take long to edit them all. 🙂

    Hi,

    Good to hear you managed to solve the issue. This, or using some plugin to search your posts is currently the best way to do this.
