Support » Plugin: Mediavine Control Panel » Ads.txt Check Looks in the wrong place

  • Using the most recent version of the MediaVine plugin.

The ads.txt updater manages to update the ads.txt file but the update confirmation checker fails to detect the updated ads.txt file. This causes the MediaVine plugin to display a warning message to request the ads.txt file be updated manually.

The issue occurs when the site is installed in subdirectory of the domain root e.g. example.com/home. In such an instance the file update is applied at example.com/ads.txt but the check is performed against example.com/home/ads.txt instead of example.com/ads.txt.

Might be best to create the ads.txt file in both locations (root and installation directory) then check against both. Not sure ads.txt is officially required in the subdirectory (should be at root) but there may be too be bots that look for it in the installation directory instead of the root directory.
