Support » Plugin: Advanced Ads – Ad Manager & AdSense » ads.txt and ads not showing on desktop devices

I’m a WordPress.com user, business account. Been using Gogle AdSense for several months. Got a waring today about not having ads.txt file.

I was using header footer plug in for ads. Google recommended using a Google AdSense plug in. So I deactivated the HFCM plugin, and installed and activated the Google Adsense Advanced plugin

I added my pub ID to the ads.txt in settings. And I clicked the button for AdSense Ads.

Under Settings> Verification code & Auto ad, I checked the box for Insert the AdSense header code used for verification and the Auto Ads

Now I see ads on mobile devices, but not my desktop computer.

Don’t know what I’m missing here.

I also keep getting the error:
Your website uses cache. Some dynamic features like ad rotation or visitor conditions might not work properly. Use the cache-busting feature of Advanced Ads Pro to load ads dynamically.

I have no idea how to fix that with a .com account.

    Hi commonsense23,

    thanks for reaching out.

I checked your ads.txt file. The correct entry is added automatically by Advanced Ads, so you can remove your publisher ID from the ads.txt content field.

You can see the output on https://independentamericancommunities.com/ads.txt.

    > Now I see ads on mobile devices, but not my desktop computer.

This is normal with Auto ads. They will start to appear on desktop soon.

    > Your website uses cache

You can ignore and close that warning. It is not relevant if you only use Auto ads.

Please let me know if you need anything else.

    Best regards,
    Thomas

Wow, thanks for the quick response. How long will it take to see ads on all platforms?

It could be hours, maybe a few days. If you see ads already then you shouldn’t worry about your site being approved by AdSense.

If you like Advanced Ads so far I would appreciate a positive review here.

    Best regards,
    Thomas

Yes, I’m already approved, and I’ve even earned money from the ads. But I was using a different plugin before.

This is a much more useful plugin and I appreciate the quick response

I did notice this on your help page

“Disable caching (either as a plugin or when using services like CloudFlare). All caching plugins allow disabling caching for logged-in users, which is the best option to see changes quickly.

Obviously, with a WP business account, I don’t have a caching plug in — it’s part of the Jetpack, I think.

Yes, caching might also come from wordpress.com itself. As I said, you shouldn’t worry too much about that.

I checked the source code on desktop and found the Auto ads code. It also connects to the AdSense server. Analyzing your site for the best positions is taking them more time on desktop.

I will leave this thread open and you can report back in a few days if anything changed.

    Best regards,
    Thomas

    Great, thanks

Thomas, ads are showing up on desktop now. Thanks.
