Like any ads? On the side of the page or at the bottom…I see new wesbite having some ads on them? Does the owner of the website make money in that case?

Lots of good info at that site on how to place varying types of ads on a site. That said, actually monetizing isn’t so simple.

If you are creating a new site, I would focus on doing everything else well first, such as creating a niche-appropriate design, adding relevant content regularly, engaging your visitors (won’t be too many early on), and promoting your site.

@gabe yea exactly thats what I have been doing. Started several months ago…its getting there got 1500 views, 10 official members ‘subscribers’, and the design is there. I dont want to add ads myself personally. Monetize as you said…totally new to that

If you want dynamic ads, Google AdSense seems to be the popular choice but I usually tell new site owners to expect only pennies a day on average. Obviously, more established sites will do much better.

There are many other ways to monetize, ads being just one part of the revenue mix. Affiliate marketing and sponsored posts/links are two in particular that have worked well for me. A lot of it depends on your niche but I encourage people to experiment and expect a lot of trial and error.
