Adrotate in sidebar too small

Hi I am learning wordpress/website design as I do my website.
I am using Pinboard template and my inside pages is set to sidebar/Content. My side bar has ample space to accommodate the ads – I put adrotate in the widget in ad blocks but its cut to half its size and has a scroll bar.
Is there a number I should be adding to expand that width so the ads in block or in the group is wider?
Or is it that it’s fixed in Pinboard?
