[Resolved] Administrator user not really administrator

  • Looking at a long list of comments on the moderation page they all have edit/spam/delete links except for 2… Infact if I go to the edit page for the 2 comments manually (type it in my address bar) I get ‘You are not allowed to edit comments on this post.’. Why do I get that if my account is an ‘Administrator’? I even tried creating a new administrator account thinking the old one was messed up and still no luck. Looking in the database the user is set as:

    wp_user_level 10
    wp_capabilities a:1:{s:13:”administrator”;b:1;}

  • Do these look like legitimate comments to you? Do they look like comments at all? Are you saying that you have a user in your DB that you don’t recognize with admin priviledges?

    No, I think you’re misunderstanding. The reason for the thread title was because i’m personally not able to moderate a comment on my own blog (or in this case 2 comments). There are no edit/spam/delete links for that comment, in the comment manage area. Every other comment has those links except for 2. I’m just trying to figure out why.

    Oh, and they are legitimate comments. I even went as far as pulling each one up in phpmyadmin and comparing them to other comments that I can moderate and I see nothing different about them.

    This may have been the solution: http://wordpress.org/support/topic/186036
