• Hello,
Anyone else had this problem where every now and then a user who is an Administrator suddenly finds they can not log in and when I check their profile, their role has been changed to ‘no role’. Weird. Error reads “sorry you are not allowed to access this page”. When I log in as Admin and change their role back, I find their ‘nickname’ has also disappeared from their profile. After I fix, it works again – for a few weeks and then it happens again.

    Any ideas?

  • Sounds like a troublesome plugin. What plugins do you run that can modify the user role?

Hi Barnez, there are no plugins that have any user role function. The plugin I have the slightest suspicions about is Really Simple SSL but I don’t see how that might affect user roles.
The site runs WooCommerce and the Storefront theme, so nothing odd there.

Thr SSL plugin would not have anything to do with user roles, but WooCommerce registers two user roles (link). I would post a support request in that plugin’s forum, so other users and the developers of the plugin can help: https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/woocommerce/
