• I had “Show Administrator role at User Role Editor” turned on by mistake…
after making a change to the admin role, the “Show administrator role” checkbox is now gray (disabled).
All of my admin accounts are unable to edit custom post types. The following message is displayed “You do not have sufficient permissions to access this admin page.

Reason: The current user doesn’t have the “do_not_allow” capability that is required to access the “SUMO Subscriptions → Add New” menu item.”

I’ve tried resetting user roles to default, and even uninstalling URE… But nothing restores the full capabilities of the Admin role.

The “Show Administrator role” is disabled in the only case – this PHP constant URE_SHOW_ADMIN_ROLE is defined somewhere, may be in wp-config.php

The error message is very strange. ‘do_not_allow’ is used by WordPress core in general to block access to the feature, not allow it.

Read this post. May be it will help you to find a suitable solution.

    Okay,
Thanks for the quick reply. I’ll do some more reading and try to figure out what’s going on.
