admin theme new nomenclature

  • I would like to change the Admin panel nomenclature and then make an Admin theme that will contain the new nomenclature so that I can continue to upgrade to new wp versions without losing my new nomenclature. Is there a way to do this? I know I can change the menu.php but those changes will not carry forward with an upgrade to a new version.

  • I’m not sure but you might want to look into how Spotmilk, and Tiger Admin Theme, did it.

P.S. I think that would be great if we could theme the admin, and/or if The Developers tried to make sensible usability oriented upgrades in the nomenclature instead of trendy terms (i.e. the recent change from the simple and space-saving “Links” to the wordy “Blogroll”)

This might need a find/replace script. Otherwise I don’t think it can be done as described.
