# Admin Screen blank

 * Hello, I haven’t logged into a clients WP site for a while and just tried only
   to find all the screens white. The side bar is there but when I click on anything
   there is nothing displaying. The front end of the site works fine as well.

 * Try:
    – switching to the default theme by renaming your current theme’s folder
   inside wp-content/themes and adding “-old” to the end of the folder name using
   [FTP](http://codex.wordpress.org/FTP_Clients) or whatever file management application
   your host provides.
 * – [resetting the plugins folder](http://codex.wordpress.org/FAQ_Troubleshooting#How_to_deactivate_all_plugins_when_not_able_to_access_the_administrative_menus.3F)
   by FTP or phpMyAdmin.
 * – re-uploading all files & folders – **except** the wp-content folder and the
   wp-config.php & root .htaccess files – from a **fresh** download of your current
   version of WordPress. Make sure that you delete the old copies of files & folder
   before uploading the new ones.

 * Do you mean that I delete the files from the ftp I am using? So go on ftp and
   delete all files expect for the files you listed? How do I get a “fresh download’?
   I still can’t see anything on the WP admin login.
 * Do I delete the files but save them to my desktop and then just re-upload the
   same files?
