admin password not accepted

    I am a new user and just installed using Fantastico and put in my password and user name for my cPanel as password and user name for WordPress.

    Was this the wrong thing to do? The password is not letting me into the admin site. I did the same yesterday and it worked, but had to wipe out the whole site because of another issue. Yesterday I installed in a sub-domain and today I installed in the root of main site. I can see the install. http://sherrycurryphotography.com/ No way to get to the dashboard. Any way I can change the password without it ruining the connection with the database the install made???

    Thanks! I was scared to death to mess with phpadmin but did. Didn’t work at first. Wasn’t clear until I found some info to help understand about the MD5 hash and remembered to clear my browser cache. Redid 2nd time with new password and it worked and I’m in. Really appreciate the link to get me started. Haven’t got much hair left though!

    Hi – I’m a total beginner – I am running wordpress on my local driver not posting until I understand what I’m doing BUT I can’t get into my inital page — it will not accept my password – either the random one assigned yesterday or the one I changed it to when I was prompted to do so.

    I have no idea what to do at this point — any help would be appreciated
