    I’ve been searching all night but haven’t come up with a reason why I have no Post module in my admin panel. I can log in but all I see on the left hand menu are two options: Profile and Tools. There’s nothing else. I upgraded to 2.7 tonight hoping that would help – but it didn’t. I can read my blog, but can’t post to it or change things like Themes or whatever. Any ideas?

    Hi,

    My guess is that either a) you are no longer an administrator but are logging in as a subscriber or another status less than administrator. How and why that has happened I don’t know. Is there a separate admin login and password that you can use? – or b) Some panels have been disabled. Click on the ‘Screen Options’ tabs towards the top right in v2.7 and make sure everything is ticked.

    I hope this helps, but I suspect something must have gone wrong for this to happen.

    Nope – I am the only one that should be able to log in (why would anyone else login?) and I’ve only got the one WordPress account. Everything is ticked in the ‘Screen Options’ dialogue. I’m on a different computer and am experiencing the same results. All I see on the left are the Profile and Tools items, nothing more.

    Does anyone from WordPress monitor these forums? I haven’t a clue as to where to go from here.

    Just checking back in to see if anyone from WordPress addressed this issue for me. Sad to say no further responses so I guess tech support for WordPress doesn’t monitor these forumns.

    Still can post to my blog; the conditions are the same as above. Might be time to search out another product.

    That should read: ‘Still can’t post to my blog…”

    I should be able to figure this thing out but I’m not coming across anything that deals with this. I’m really wondering why there isn’t a WordPress tech support to ask about this?

    Hi Stephen,

    That sounds terribly frustrating. I am reduced to merely suggesting the obvious – try uninstalling WordPress completely and then reinstalling the latest version of WordPress. You will want to first export your posts and pages (go to Tools > Export) so that you can re-import them when you have re-installed WordPress. As for backing up, well, it might not be worthwhile if the existing WP installation is faulty.
