    Hello,

I can get no access neither to my wp dashboard nor the blog itself. When trying to start the wp-admin page the following message occurs:

“One or more database tables are unavailable. The database may need to be repaired.”

When pressing the “repaired” link the following message pops up:

“To allow use of this page to automatically repair database problems, please add the following line to your wp-config.php file. Once this line is added to your config, reload this page.

    define(‘WP_ALLOW_REPAIR’, true);

    Check secret keys

While you are editing your wp-config.php file, take a moment to make sure you have all 8 keys and that they are unique. You can generate these using the WordPress.org secret key service.”

When I try to open the wp-config file via the File Manager I get this message:

    “Error establishing a database connection”

So I have no access to anything related with my blog. What can I do?

I saw that others had similar problems but I couldn`t find a suitable help.

Thus this question, any help very much appreciated.

    Dear Steven,

thank you very much for your quick response. This answer I saw already below all other questions regarding a simimlar topic.

I am a bit puzzeld now. My blog is already hosted by yahoo! like all my other websites.

Does that mean I have to download cplan and register first to start trying to fix my database?

No. Contact Yahoo tech support to find out how to access PHPMYADMIN on their system.

Good luck. Yahoo Small Business hosting is not one I’d recommend.

Thanks again, for the quick help.

I have installed phpMyAdmin, it is working but in contratiction to the FileManager (where I can not open the file, as described above) I can not find the wp-config.php file in the directory.

Which table do I have to change/repair?

I get two messages regarding tables wp_bas_log and wp_options:

#144 – Table ‘./blog1/wp_bas_log’ is marked as crashed and last (automatic?) repair failed

    and

#144 – Table ‘./blog1/wp_options’ is marked as crashed and last (automatic?) repair failed

Via PHPMYADMIN, repair those two tables.

The new situation is as follows:

“Some database problems could not be repaired. Please copy-and-paste the following list of errors to the WordPress support forums to get additional assistance.

wp_usermeta: 1 client is using or hasn’t closed the table properly
wp_posts: 5 clients are using or haven’t closed the table properly
wp_comments: 9 clients are using or haven’t closed the table properly
wp_links: 1 client is using or hasn’t closed the table properly
wp_options: Table is marked as crashed and last repair failed
wp_postmeta: 5 clients are using or haven’t closed the table properly
wp_terms: 13 clients are using or haven’t closed the table properly
wp_term_taxonomy: 2 clients are using or haven’t closed the table properly
wp_term_relationships: 2 clients are using or haven’t closed the table properly
wp_commentmeta: 11 clients are using or haven’t closed the table properly”
