I can see my login page and enter my credentials but after that I get a white screen.
The blog appears fine to the public, I just can’t access any of my admin tools. I was working on the blog and my daughter accidentally clicked “update” which I had been avoiding for this very reason…
I am new to wordpress so any help you can offer and any documents you can refer to me to read to help me possibly resolve this on my own would be greatly appreciate.
    Thanks in advance…

  • Hmmm… let’s begin with the basics.

    1. Using either FTP or your hosts cPanel, you need to gain access to your file directories.

    2. Once there, navigate to the “wp-content” directory.

    3. Look for the “plugins” directory.. and rename this directory to something like “plugins-temp”.

This will force all plugins to deactivate.

Lastly, go to your login page and see if you can get into the admin panel.

    My pleasure.

Now, make sure to go back and rename your plugins folder back to “plugins”.

Then, you can begin re-activating your plugins… until it “breaks” again. When it does… you can repeat the steps to get your site back.. and ditch the plugin that is breaking the site 🙂
