    Hi:
After having the http://www.annetteross.com.au site live for a few months I lost access to the wp-admin login page. I get a “Page cannot be found error”.

I found some things to try in the forums: I tried wp-login.php and wp-admin.php as well but got the same error. I’ve also deleted the .htaccess file and renamed the Plugins folder to PluginsOLD . I tried the same with all themes folders except twentyfifteen. No joy! (I’ve put everything back since)

Lastly, since the website was on version 4.1.1 I did a manual update to 4.2.1 by deleting the wp-admin and wp-includes folders and replaced them with the respective 4.2.1 folders but could not complete the upgrade because I cannot access the http://www.annetteross.com.au/wp-admin/upgrade.php page as I get the same “page cannot be found error”. I still have the two 4.2.1 folders there.

    Can somebody please help? Thanks!

You’re right @claytonjames, thanks! The host said the domain’s A record was pointed to the Site Builder product by mistake so I wasn’t looking at the WP website on the web but FTP showed my the WP website’s files. Very confusing!

This solved my issue. Thanks again.
