Not sure what happened, but all of a sudden the menu in the admin area is limited to settings, help and re-order…

All the other options are gone; like Events, Add Events etc. I tried to deactivate all the other plugins as well as deactivate and re-activate the event manager, but nothing changed.

    any advice is appreciated. thanks,
    biorn

hmmm, for whatever reason all the user capabilities were unchecked… thus hiding most admin menus. this was not done by anyone, so it is a mystery.

    anyone experienced anything similar?

haven’t experience this error before; however, I assumed this issue is resolved now (based on your last comment)?

I’ve got the same error (limited to settings, help). Events Manager (not Pro) Version 5.5.1 WordPress 3.6.1
When I try the link: “…/wp-admin/post-new.php?post_type=event” just keeps saying “Cheating Huh?”
Add events option do not appear in the Admin “+ New” menu…

this can happen (rare but I’ve seen this before) due to other plugins that mess with user capabilities and trigger some sort of reset on updates.

unfortunately I don’¡t think there’s much we can do about it, since there are plugins that do this correctly (Capability Manager is used by many and supposedly works) and updates go without a hitch.

fortunately, the solution is usually quite simple, visit Events > Settings > General > User Capabilities and make sure your caps are set correctly (e.g. check them all for admins)

ok – thanks. it is just strange. anyway, I will mark this as resolved then.
