  • Sounds like the same problem as http://wordpress.org/support/topic/admin-redirect-2

Also noted in that link is that after logging back in the popup does not close, instead the page loads inside it, which is not desirable at all.

Would be really nice if TML would detect if it is loaded in a modal/popup dialog and not load the full page login for and then close the popup on login.

Yes, it looks like there is still issues with the Popup login screen, as It was mentioned in the other threat mark now as Resolved: (http://wordpress.org/support/topic/admin-redirect-2)

I think this a great plugin with good functionalities, just needs to correct the issue that was supposed fixed in the version 6.3.11.

@fabz, what issue are you experiencing?

    Hi Jeff,

I have the same issue that is mention in the topic, “when an admins session times out, the admin displays the popup to log back…”, so the whole Login Page appears in the Popup, and when you login in the Popup, you get redirected to page selected in TML but you still stays in the Popup.

Thank you in advanced for any help with this issue.

can you verify if theme-my-login/admin/js/theme-my-login-admin.js is being loaded?

Hi Jeff, and thank you for looking into this.

Yes I can see the JS file has been loaded:
    “/wp-content/plugins/theme-my-login/admin/js/theme-my-login-admin.js?ver=6.3.11”

Let me know if you need me to provide you with any other other info/ test.

If the javascript is being loaded, then I don’t see why it isn’t working properly. It does on my end.

    Hi Jeff,

The issue is still there, any recommendation that could be causing this problem.

@computerinfo21, sorry were you able fix this issue at your side?

Jeff, in the theme-my-login-admin.js, it verifies if the form exists, and it changes the data source to “tmlAdmin.interim_login_url” If any test(s) would you like me to do (get some console log data) in order to find a possible solution for this.

Thank you in advanced for any help guys.

My first recommendation is in this forum’s sticky. Disable other plugins and test because, as usual, it works for me.

Just tested and the fix is working correctly for me on 6.3.11

To test I logged in, then opened another tab for the site. Then logged out in one tab and in the other one it pops up the WordPress login screen in the dialog (instead of the TML login page displaying in the dialog).

After logging in the dialog goes away and I can continue working on the full site as expected.

To be honest I would prefer to see the TML version in the dialog and have it close after login, but I appreciate the fix so have been using it without bothering Jeff any more.

Thanks for fixing it Jeff, it is really appreciated!

Thank you guys for your replies,

I will look into this, when I find the “culprit” I’ll post it in here.

    Rgds,

    Hello,
my experience is that by default the popup login works as Jeff said, but if I check the Disable wp-login.php option on the Security page, then it falls back to the original behavior what is showing the full site in the popup. Disabling direct access to wp-login.php is useful to defend it from brute force attacks – and that is why the TML plugin is great, as we don’t need wp-login.php, so I think and alternate solution would be necessary by using the themed login page in the popup and closing it after the user logged in.
    Thanks,

Ahh, I forgot to take into account the disabling of wp-login.php. Good point!
