Admin icons not showing in IE8 after upgrade WP

    Hi,
    After upgrading to WP 3.8.1, everything was fine on Mac and on PC in Chrome, but not on client’s PC in IE8, where admin icons disappeared (left side admin menu plus text editor icons).
    I know these icons are now dashicons (fonts).
    I tried having them delete browser cache, and in prefs letting the browser choose fonts. All to no avail.
    Search couldn’t throw up solution.
    Any ideas?
