  • First Google result gave me this:

    add_filter('custom_signup_user_notification', 'auto_activate_users', 10, 4);
    function auto_activate_users($user, $user_email, $key, $meta){
      custom_activate_signup($key);
      return false;
    }

    Sorry I think you missunderstand. I don’t mean a user active activation.

    I am the only admin on the site. I go to settings general and change my email for the email of the customer who will actually own the site. Before this has been fine but now I am getting a notification telling me the email owner has to confirm I have never had this before.

    Since WP 4.9, changing emails now require email validation before the change takes effect.

    very awesome

    The “tircky” way to get around it is to edit the email address directly on the database. That isn’t something for “regular users” to look at, but most devlopers should be able to manage that without a problem.

    Yep thanks literally just did this. Thought surely if I change in the database there wouldn’t be an issue. Seems to have worked just fine.
