  • In 3.4 it junky feature appear again. I just wonder – WP developers – is it so complicated to make annoying bar optional, not default? Maybe it’s just a way to push people create new plugins to hide someone planning mistakes?

  • Just because you don’t like it doesn’t make it a planning mistake.

But yes, there are plugins that can remove it.

Planning mistake happens when options made as default; particularly in case when one single check-box can solve the problem to thousands of users.

See the section ‘Decisions not Options’

Every time you give a user an option, you are asking them to make a decision. When a user doesn’t care or understand the option this ultimately leads to frustration.

Yeah, right… this philosophy kills people minds. Politicians kill us on a same way… thank for pointing me to that. I’ll consider dumping WP and going by my self now. I don’t like people who look at me as on brainless log.

WordPress has to cater for many users of varying skill levels. This philosophy addresses the reality that giving too many options can lead to a bad user experience.

You can always customize WordPress to your own needs by writing your own plugins and themes. The flexibility is there, it just doesn’t need to be exposed to most users.
