[Resolved] Admin Color Scheme Doesn't Change Color on front end (3.8)

  • Exactly what the title says. I just updated and I changed the Admin Color Scheme color to ocean and when I go to my website on the front end the color is black. It doesn’t update the front end. I just updated today to wordpress 3.8

How did you change the admin bar colour?
    Do you have caching?

Through my profile on the back end of the admin panel.

[Moderator Note: No bumping. If it’s that urgent, consider hiring someone.]

I see, the admin bar on the front-end is still colored #222 regardless of the color scheme. I think it’s either they forgot to implement it on the front-end or they chose to make it behave this way for a reason.

If you want, you could style it yourself by targeting #wpadminbar

Have you considered hiring someone to support you? We can’t do 9 minute deadlines.

    So its not just me?

How can I change the color of the front end then because #222 is too much black.

    Edit:

I don’t need to hire someone I just wanted to make sure this wasn’t a bug for the new release….. I’m sure other people are going to think this is a bug..

when I go to my website on the front end the color is black. It doesn’t update the front end. I just updated today to wordpress 3.8

This is by design. Changing the color on the user profile ONLY does it for the backend of WP, it does not change it on the front end intentionally.

is there any way to change this to one of the other colors?

    Thanks Everyone!

    @undergod11,

I wrote a little plugin called Admin Bar Color which allows you to use the new colors schemes on your front end admin bar.

    Hope it helps!

Great plugin Eduardo, but if somebody has the Admin bar always visible even for logged out users, the default is still always used, anyway to mod your plugin so that it changes the front end colors even for non logged in users ?

Eduardo thanks so much I’m going to test it out.

Since the admin color configuration works on a user basis, I don’t think this can be accomplished. You can try, however, to set a new default admin bar color on the front end.

Having the same issue ! One minute it was working fine and now it’s back to the default color. I can select the colors and it changes fine, but when I hit save it goes back to the default. I can’t for the life of me understand 1) what’s going on 2) how to fix it and 3) If the team disabled this feature – why ?? I always say, if it isn’t broke don’t fix it.

Any help here would be greatly appreciated as I really hate the default color.
