Admin Bar Different and has broken images

  • I currently manage two sites and noticed that the Admin Bar is different on both and one has a broken image in it. Here’s where you can see each admin bar:

    Site 1
    Site 2

Site 1’s bar displays Dashboard, Edit Post, Add New, Comments, Appearance, Shortlink, Views over (broken image). Site 2’s bar displays Dashboard, Add New, Comments, Appearance, Updates.

I have not customized the Bar for either site. Also, the one with more info and a broken link, the Bar remained completely unchanged on site 1 even after I went to a more updated/recent theme, one built for WP 3.2+.

Why would one have more content by default along with a broken image?

Anyone found an answer to this? If so, where can I read about it? What can I do to fix it?

Most likely a plugin is trying to add to the bar. Try disabling plugins until it goes away. As a wild guess, I’ll got for it being a stats plugin.

That was it exactly (not sure why I never thought about it all that time). The problem was the WordPress.com Stats plugin. The API key I entered never worked. I just disabled the plugin.
