Admin area incomplete for editor

i’ve added a new user with editor privs. in the admin > edit post she has nothing below the main edit box, no excerpt, no custom field, nothing but the “thank you for creating with wordpress” at end of page. note: i am admin and when we are both on a post, i can see complete admin but she can’t. even when she creates a new post. never had this happen before.
