Adjusting stylesheet for custom logo (WP5.5)

University Hub has a styling break with the custom logo change in the upcoming WordPress 5.5, and it may be similar in other WEN themes.
The logo does not float left without the link, so it shows after the site-identity heading on the homepage. Changing the selector from
