    I'm creating a WP site with a static front index page and a right sidebar containing excerpts of most recent posts. Just have a skeleton with filler text in many areas but on index home page, i want to increase/adjust vertical spacing between the excerpts (they're too close). I have looked for a location to change this but can't yet locate it. I'm using a blank theme and WordPress 3.7.1. hosted by hostmonster.com.

    Hi @astephens,

    Greetings and thanks for posting on the forums.

    You can achieve it by adding following CSS code in the style.css file of your child theme or add it in your site using the following plugin.

    #siderightnarrow .post h4 {
    margin: 15px 0 5px;
    }

    Cheers,

    It worked! Well i just added it to my CSS and it adjusted spacing. Didn't do it in child theme or plugin. I'll need to adjust excerpt lengths so they won't go over footer area. Might need to have a div container for that sidebar. I'm sure more questions to come...
    Thanks for your quick response though. I appreciate your help.

    Hi @astephens,

    You are most welcome.

    Didn't do it in child theme or plugin.

    It's recommended to change / add the code in the parent theme as changes made in the parent theme will be overwritten and lost when you update the parent theme.

    I'll need to adjust excerpt lengths so they won't go over footer area. Might need to have a div container for that sidebar.

    Use the following CSS code to achieve it.

    footer {
    clear: both;
    }

    Cheers,
